As someone who was incessently bullied for many years, "get over it" is pretty good advice for some people. Like all advice on personal emotional problems, it doesn't sork for everyone, but for a lot of people it does.

Users know they're buying into a closed garden when they buy the product. It's a feature, not a bug. If people wanted alternative app stores, they'd buy Android or Linux devices.

The value that Apple brings - which bafflingly you seem to have missed - is over a billion users. That's a significant value. I doubt more than 50 companies in the words history have been able to provide that level of user base on thei

It worries me how ubiqutous the idea of letting your single digit age children talk to a "voice assistant" that analyses and stores their words has become. It also concerns me that people describe this thing as a "she",

Why? That grinds my gears. If the company believes in the values and benefits of longer parental leave (and I'm sure they say they do), why not enforce above the minimum in every country they operate in?

It's likely your viewpoint of professionalism doesn't match that of Atlassian's here. As an Australian, it seems perfectly fine to me.

I'm unsure if that passes the litmus test. In Australia, we had a royal comission into banking a few years ago, and the outcome was much tighter rules on lending, equity from assets, etc. We also don't allow people to invest in th

It's bizarre that prostitution is illegal in an allegedly progressive, western country like the USA. From an outsiders perspective, this is comparable to burning witches. Is there a reason for this beyond ideals from the middle ages an

Did you post this article primarily so you could respond to everyone here touting your own opinions and disagree with anyone else’s? I get things are frustrating at the moment, but that’s pretty narcissistic.

This is an interesting choice of article of the many on this matter. The title is wrong (it’s state government, not federal. You wouldn’t post “US government” when Florida enacts something). The intent of this program is as a trial to see i

Your response is irrelevant to the query of “which many places are completely over this already?”. Naming an individual United states state which clearly isn’t over it as one of the “many places” doesn’t really provide an answer.
