Using Linux is not a practical decision. It is an ethical/moral decision or simply just because you like tinkering. That's fine. I like getting shit done. But then, getting mad because your favourite closed source company doesn&#x

I get this all the time. I can only ever dream of joining Facebook, Google, or Microsoft, ethics aside, but because I’m an immigrant from a no-name university, nobody gives a fuck about us of course. Americans be like: “man, this 400k USD j

Why do you think Brexit was what it was? UK wants to dominate and enslave its population for the political gain of the ruling class. It is clear as day to me.

Fastmail uses @fastmail.com (the default domain) for randomly generated aliases. Good luck blocking the hundreds of thousands of fastmail users by trying to block the minority using masked addresses.

These projects while technically impressive and interesting, I'm sure wouldn't make much of a difference to copyright holders. I can imagine something like this: - Please take down our IP - I can't because I am not hosting i

I am getting quite tired of the NFT and blockchain hate. Every argument against it has been heard. We get it, you don't like blockchain. You don't like expensive inflated art. You think the art has no artistic value. I actually do

XMPP is dead and I'm very happy about that. The only people who still use XMPP in a significant capacity are the likes of Nintendo (for the Switch push notifications system) and it is pretty out of reach for any average citizen. XMPP a

I strongly disagree. Windows XP plasticky design was pretty unappealing. Windows 2000 and Windows Vista on the other hand... Much better in my opinion. Also Mac OS Aqua design was great when it was skeuomorphic.

I just recently saw someone posting on LinkedIn that 500k for a Senior Engineer role was too low. Half a fucking million. All good European engineers are leaving to USA. And I would too.

I feel this differently. I too can pass on-site interviews, but my problem is I don't even get a first phone screen to begin with, they discard me without even spending 5 minutes on me. You Americans (even afroamericans) have absolutel

That's a pretty loaded question. How ethical is it to travel? How ethical is it to own a smartphone? How ethical is to buy milk?

They don't allow scams yet every other pre-video ad I get is about an obvious pyramid scheme and the skippable ad itself lasts at least 30 minutes. Curious.

You didn't answer my question. Let's suppose such Indian engineer who lives in India and has the exact same skills as a Google California engineer (including English fluency) exists. Why does he earn less than the Californian one?

If the EULA explicitly states you are not allowed to reverse-engineer the product, which is so common I've never seen one that doesn't say so (I'm not saying it's impossible, I'm saying I haven't see it) then..
