I've been posting this explaination for more than 10 years now: http://www.felderbooks.com/papers/bell.html I think I prefer Felder's explaination more than Quanta's. It's omitting some details (eg.

To understand the argument that 'facebook is evil' requires more context than what is explicitly stated in this article. It's more of a followup or continuation of a long running thread. Basically there is a long thread about

It would be nice if we all came to the same conclusions if we just read the same material. But reality doesnt work that way. Assuming we are just dolts who cannot read because we disagree is a bit presumptuous.

This is why corporations need constitutional rights--something I have seen the left trying to strip away during the last 10 years or so. Yes, a corporation isn't a person per se, but it is a group of people. To decide which websites ha

"No keyboard. Less space than a BlackBerry. Lame." I don't know why it wasn't obvious at the time. It just seemed like a silly gimmick. Ive still never owned an iPhone, but it's clear their design won. What I learne

My guess is that they don't want people to blame the OS for their slow machine... I seem to remember reading years ago that vista was a victim of this (no way I can find that reference now though).

The great thing is that the desktop space is considered small-peanuts now. It's no longer hip or cool. And even there, they are increasingly niche (windows for businesses and gamers, mac for video chat, web dev, and facebook moms).

Disney should drop the Jedi line. That hero arc has been told (and then rehashed in the last trilogy). You have a galaxy with a million planets. There is so much potential in Star Wars. Tell a story about a boy who leads a slave rebellion.

I actually gently disagree. There is a lot of statements that education doesn't teach practical skills, but i think that's a mistake. We don't teach specifics like 'how to do your taxes' or different retirement acco

I know petty much nothing, but I cannot help but feel that knowing the result, any answer is equally explainable. If Greenland ruled the world we would all be discussing some nonsense about how easily sleds glide over ice. Nevermind that th

The purpose of the role is to be able to show that you have a diversity officer. Whether or not that actually helps diversity, or helps at all--is secondary.

I actually really don't think most people know what it means. Personally, I was on a team of over 10 devs and I am pretty sure none of us knew what REST really meant (including me at the time). The author is practically correct--RE

The term really is a bit too academic to understand for a lot of people who are unfamiliar with API design, but comes down to fairly simple concepts when explained in plain language. I compare it to how monads have an ivory tower definition
