No it didn’t? People(web devs) jumped to Chrome because Google advertised it heavily. I never did because I remember internet explorer and lack of transparent PNG support.

Why should Amazon be involved at all? Why should they know my reading habits?

Buy some cheap computer, pop in a few NICs, setup a FreeBSD or OpenBSD gateway, including DNS and some other goodies. And by cheap, any $10 relic will do. You’ll find their manuals very informative.

For servers, especially file servers, FreeBSD is superior to any Linux distribution, in my opinion.

As long as there is a barrier, and as long as I have to actively be doing something while moving around, it's a poor system. I enable my travel when I leave home ideally, and and stop it when I have reached my destination. Not at a loc

Ok, even as a tourist I prefer not to have to fiddle with my card on every ride. I can't comprehend how people can prefer the tap in/tap off. Seems like another unnecessary inconvenience in life to me. Additionally, SBB offers man

The problem is that the tap in/tap off is an unnecessary inconvenience. I often travel with suitcases(always on the road for my work) and it's a pain in the ass sometimes due to the mechanism in my way. Why should I have to fiddle

I typically swipe at home before leaving and leave the automatic swipe off, on. Otherwise I swipe off at my desk at the office.

I've used many similar systems. Netherlands has an identical system. I prefer when there are no turnstiles or other forms of gates blocking my way. Just step onto the train.

Ok, this might sound great but it's really not. I live in Switzerland, and they don't use a tap in/tap out system at all. There are no barriers to enter the station, anywhere. There are multiple ways to purchase a ticket, I u

In 2000, I was 14 years old and hosting my own websites(in PHP) on a FreeBSD box at home, on a 10/10 connection, on hand me down hardware from a school sysadmin. This was in Stockholm where we have good internet. Certainly a skilled ad

I agree. I’ve been a big Lenovo fan, settled on the X1 carbon. I’ve had three of them, G5, G6 and G9. The USB-C port broke on both G6 and G9 models. Apparently it’s a common problem. Unfortunately the ports are soldered directly on the moth

You are overthinking this. Donald Trump wants to make the USA bigger. It will put him in the history books. He also wants a lot of chaos so he can be bribed to stop(he won’t). There is no master plan, just greed.

Not really. The planet is crowded, currently with mostly productive members of society. For the ultra rich psychos who run the show, do you really think they want poor people hanging around? When we can be wiped out in a few months? Conside

Not everywhere. Switzerland has a direct democracy, which should be emulated by the rest of the world. https://www.aboutswitzerland.eda.admin.ch/en/direct-democrac... FWIW I am not from Switzerland, I only live there.
