I think the best way to hire people would be to do a quick 30 minute "filter" interview, where you basically ask about a person's background. If they can pass that, then sign them up for a 90 day contract. If they prove the

I honestly cannot understand this attitude. It sounds like pure jealousy. You are saying that we should stop people from being too successful. Bezos earned all of his wealth honestly. He offered products and services for prices that peop

Spending $50 on a work tool that you will use many times a day actually sounds like a great deal to me.

1) Startups suck. They will work you to death all for the promise that maybe it will pay off one day (but probably won't.) 2) I don't want to work for a "mission-driven" company. What does that even mean? Most compani

Yeah, I do this every time there is a major OS update and it saves me a lot of hassle. It also forces me to re-evaluate everything I had previously installed. Usually I end up with a much cleaner, smaller, and more optimized image. It al

Yes, they could defeat the pihole by hard coding IPs, but that would cause a whole range of other headaches and would most likely not be worth doing.

"Unlimited PTO" is the biggest scam ever. 1) It is a lie. It is certainly NOT "unlimited" in any way, shape or form, and everyone knows it. Can you take 10 years off? How about 1 year off? How about 6 months off? No

I totally agree. The best solution I have come up with for trying to assess if someone can learn new things quickly is simply to ask a candidate to describe the last new thing that they learned. It doesn't have to be job-related at a

It completely depends on the manual. If this is the first time I have ever seen it, and it's about something I have never used, it very well might take me a while to figure out how to look up information quickly and effectively. Does

Yeah, age I can understand. People usually list their college degree along with the date of graduation, so you can usually make a good guess about their age. But, I have no idea how you gather gender or marital status from a resume.

That's funny, I love the movie but hate the book. I guess it all depends on whether you enjoy the book's explanation for the world and specifically, Howl. To me it was too distracting.

I would imagine "spare" clothing would be: 1) More durable than normal clothing. They would not be something stylish enough to wear every day, but useful in a natural disaster. Think heavy duty work clothes. 2) Kept in some sort
