Normally the CPU clock runs continuously and every cycle the program counter increments (or gets changed by a branch instruction of some kind.) If you want to stop the CPU, you have to gate the clock somehow. Maybe a timer that you could co

Huh, interesting. In Virginia we have problems with resident Canada geese. They eat everything, shit on everything, and taste terrible. http://www.dgif.virginia.gov/wildlife/problems/canada-geese/

This looks very cool. When I was a kid I spent many an afternoon programming robots in RoboWar, which used a simple stack machine processor with a bunch of special instructions and registers for doing robot-y things. I think I enjoyed that

Oh, that's a nicer one than the others I found. I see that sort of thing as being useful in situations where the PC is required anyway, like a lot of automated lab setups. You need the PC for data acquisition and analysis, and it'

Those statements are all still largely true, they haven't been "cycled through." There are a lot of good things happening in the world of electric cars, but right now, for most people, they're too expensive and they requ

Re-balling is possible for hobbyists, but it's an extra tricky step that you'd need to do. Why bother when you can buy a nice ARM SoC?
