I'm curious what features RHEL has over Debian, that make it worth paying for? I used CentOS for years, then switched to Debian, and it's been plain sailing, so I'm wondering what l could gain with RHEL.

Never had any issues with the Plex TV app myself, other than the number of updates being quite annoying at times.

I tried both a while back, and settled on Plex, as it seemed more fully featured, plus the there's an app for it on my TV, so the UI and UX were better too. What did you find JellyFin had, that Plex didn't?

Could these goals could actually be achievable, via a community-sponsored model, similar to how Wikipedia works? I'm not sure it would work, there are just so many challenges, over and beyond the initial bootstrapping.

Right... but Google and Microsoft already let you customise the names of query parameters containing tracking information - I can call the Google Click ID parameter "dave" if I want to.

That wouldn't work - people would just start giving their query parameters different name, e.g. instead of "gclid", it might be "dave".

You could simply salt the hash, though you'd need to treat the salt as a secret. Alternatively, you could use a new salt every day, which would only allow you to track an individual for a 24 hour period (likely enough for many).
