What a PR disaster this will be for Apple. I can't see how they could possibly spin this or defend it at all. That is, if it's true. It probably is, but I'm always dubious of "a person with knowledge of the meeting said&

It's tantamount to people telling others with clinical depression to "just cheer up and stop feeling sorry for themselves. Have you tried not being depressed?"

Absolutely, REAPER. While it may be a little obtuse to learn, it is absolutely as powerful as the big guys in music production such as ProTools. Plus it works on both Windows and Mac, unlike Logic. There is a big community around REAPER als

I use Apple products and I am in no way, in any sense of the word, "rich". I'm not even close. And why is it that someone tries to show how expensive Apple products are, they always list the highest end, most tricked out prod

I'm currently on it and it was prescribed by my doctor for my diabetes. I just started it. Yes, the side effect may be weight loss for me, which will also directly help my diabetes in and of itself, but the weight-loss is only a side e

I used to be a professional photographer, and have been out of the game for about 10 years. For the last 15 years of my profession, I really embraced the digital SLR in my work. But I still had a big 8x10 field camera that I would take port

Thanks for linking to a 4 year old story. Now link to the follow-up stories to where Apple no longer does this and they were sued for breaking their privacy policy. Google still does it, as in their TOS they basically say "yeah, we

It's like the owners and managers of Reddit have no idea how Reddit operates. "Mods? Who needs mods? Or users? That's not what our company is about. And what is a "subreddit?"".

This is always on a case-by-case basis. Just because THIS particular person can't work everything on an iPad doesn't mean EVERYONE is the same. My mother-in-law, for instance, does everything from an iPad. She doesn't own a c

I'm sorry, I'm not trying to obtuse here, but did he take some secret knowledge with him to the grave or something? Can others not figure out the code? I can understand it may be quirky, but is the future of vim really in peril?

Not sure if you're being factious or not. vim is an open source project and he wasn't the only person working on it. The future of vim is fine.

Yeah, sounds kind of like the old Renderman RIB files. Does Renderman still use RIB files? I've been so out of the loop it's insane. I learned not long ago they no longer use the original Renderman Shading Language.
