People can feel unsafe for a variety of reasons. Characterizing your "side" on this issue as the sole champion of compassion and empathy is a dishonest way to avoid rational debate. We understand that people with schizophrenia hav

My mom got me a pair of AfterShokz (the former name of this brand) years ago, and I’ve been hooked ever since. I’m on my third pair now, and I’m pretty brutal on them. I wear them every day for long periods, and I really enjoy having headph

I have one of these in my home office. Just press a button to switch from my work laptop to my PC, including all peripherals like speakers, webcam, mic, etc. My only complaint is that the audio behaves a little strangely. It buzzes and pops

I don’t have anything bad to say about PipeWire. It's really been a breath of fresh air. And, as much hate as it gets, so was PulseAudio when it came out. Good to see things moving forward.

I used to do it regularly with major events. Set up streams of multiple live sources and just watch things play out. You get a very different perspective on things than if you watch the handful of clips and images that get replayed constant

I’ll take the other side. There’s nothing wrong with acknowledging race. Today people equate race with a biological essentialism that was grafted onto it in the recent past, but that’s not what race ever meant. Acknowledging race is nothing

I’ll agree with a nitpick. Nationality is also an ethnic concept. A nation is the political manifestation of an ethnic group. Not all states are nations, but we use the term imprecisely. Citizenship is something else entirely.

I think what’s happening here isn’t really regional at all. It’s a kind of confusion that can happen anywhere within the Anglosphere. We have a word, “couple” which means exactly two things. But unlike “one” or “two”, children don’t tend to

Not a small town thing. There isn’t a town or city of any size in America that isn’t woefully deficient in rule of law. It’s just whatever artificial camp you get thrown into that decides which corruption you overlook.
