Yooo lets go Svelte! I really love using it and I’m glad other people are discovering it. I’m even releasing my own SaaS boilerplate made around SvelteKit: https://sveltesaas.com

I made ExtensionPay[1] (a service to help you take payments in extensions) and I used Mozilla's `browser` shim in the extension library itself. MV3 is not available on Firefox yet so I support both MV2 and MV3, but yeah it's a pai

SvelteKit. I have a high risk tolerance but SvelteKit is the framework I've been waiting for since I first started using Pyramid & Django in 2010. All the plumbing, optimization, and performance is done with no configuration and a

Oh this is an interesting tip. Any guides? I'd imagine this could have deliverability problems being from a self-hosted mail server but maybe that's just been ingrained in me by email providers :)

Definitely mature enough. Take a look at their really awesome interactive tutorial to see how well-developed all the pieces of Svelte are: https://svelte.dev/tutorial/basics

When I last looked at Adonis I was really turned off, but I don't remember why. Looking again, it seems like the templating is a real weakness, but lots of the other things are nice.

Agreed with everything you say here. Really want there to be a go-to Rails-like framework for JS, but nothing has reached that point yet. I'm very bullish on SvelteKit — hits all the points you mention above and outputs a minimal, perf

Maybe this isn't what you're looking for but Retool ( https://retool.com/ ) is a really great platform for building internal apps faster. I have no association with them, just think they're cool and do a useful

I'm not sure what that has to do with my choice of database. I just do it the way every web app does those things.

I don’t. I have the one server with streaming dB backups. Although apparently litestream might include a way to do live SQLite replication soon.

I do streaming updates with Litestream: https://litestream.io/ I recently set it up after putting it off for a while and it took like 5 minutes. It was great. And the backups are currently costing me 0 cents per month on ba

Well maybe to you "managed database server" feels more reassuring which is fine, but to me I run my business off SQLite which I've found insanely simple to set up and maintain, so that is more reassuring to me. And just an as

Yes indeed! Even though it's only been a month I keep posting about it in HN threads about SQLite and people keep going "wow I never thought about that!"

I don't. My current understanding is that even though there are sharding / replication projects out there for SQLite, it's usually a better idea to just go with a typical database server when you need many machines. But a lot
