I expect in the future, when these AI companies stop subsidizing costs, the idea of spinning up 20 agents to work on some brain fart idea that you throw out after looking closer will come to an end. It'll be seen like assigning develop

These days I find Gemini often recommends me a youtube video that's just an AI voice reading out a reddit post that was chat gpt generated full of emoji.

I'm just saying there is monetary penalty to having this tag applied, contrary to the parent comment. So mistakenly applying it to a real video would be very detrimental to the creator.

I currently use a 2008 Fujifilm camera and a 2018 Sony. The Fujifilm doesn’t even have a firmware update mechanism, and the Sony camera doesn’t get updated anymore. These devices are rarely connected to the internet and never go obsolete so

Even if you are a plumber and we don’t automate plumbing, you’ll have half the population displaced and switching to plumbing. Everything that isn’t automated will be over saturated.

Speed has usually mattered less to me than memory usage. Most Ruby applications are speed limited by the database rather than Ruby. But when you have a bunch of background workers, every one chewing 2+ gb of memory stacks up. I wrote one pr

Updating Rails is one of the most painful processes ever. There is no real way to be sure it works. You just have to have 50,000 unit tests, cypress tests, and then hope and pray. On any sufficiently large and old app, something will always

Apartments are the middle ground. I bought one about 4 years ago and haven’t had to do anything. Any issues like water heaters and such get handled by the building management. Eventually I’ll have to repaint and repair the internals but it’

The unofficial and offical charts are both lying. The GitHub one ignores actual outages and the unofficial ones count minor display bugs in minor features as a “github outage”.

Looks nice, but I just can’t imagine the use case where you care about security enough to encrypt a file, but not enough that you trust a random website with it.

There’s a Kmart near me that I sometimes walk around when it’s raining outside. Even though it’s not endless like outside, the tall isles block your sight lines so you can wander for a while.

It's funny how in the past a server uptime used to be a kind of badge of honor, while now a computer running for more than a week is a massive security risk. I've had to be on top of updating everything constantly lately.
