The title is "How does Facebook moderate its extreme content?", which seems more accurate than "Undercover video suggests Facebook wants extreme and disturbing content."

The only thing I customize in my browser is the color scheme, and my script updates that manually. I mean I have some bookmarks and extensions, but those don't take more than 10 minutes to restore.

I don't backup my computer anymore because everything I have is in the cloud anyways. I have a git repository with all of my scripts, a command I run to set up my system from scratch, and all of my files in Google Drive/Github. An

Is Google's password reset system a massive security risk? I set up a couple of recovery phone numbers without thinking about it too much, but after reading this it seems like I'm just a little bit of social engineering away from

You can also give resources to those who aren't in privilege so they are able to succeed academically, and don't need to have their admission average artificially lowered.

Sure, and every non-privileged person who gets in also hurts others who are in the same situation, since they have taken up a spot. The difference is in this case there is an actual policy which is actively punishing people for being in a p

I think instead of trying to lower the bar for low income students, we should work on solving the actual problems causing them to perform more poorly on the SAT (or adjust the SAT so it is more representative of their actual skills). If stu

Admissions is generally a zero sum game, so whenever you help one group, you hurt everyone else who doesn't have that benefit.

It seems like it would be to expensive to build and maintain this kind of cabling over a significant portion of the highway, but it would be interesting to have it over smaller sections so trucks can re-charge without stopping.

How do they keep the bearings from skipping over the rear gear/disk? That disk and driveshaft would have to be extremely stiff to avoid flexing, especially in lower gears where the contact point is further out, and it looks like just a

Facebook messenger seems to be the replacement for WhatsApp in North America, at least in my circles. I have dozens of Facebook messenger groups, with different subsets of friends and activities.

So what is an example of a call that is idempotent? Are only requests that don't modify state considered idempotent, by your definition?

That's the commutative property. It is really nice to have operations that are commutative monoids, where you can re-order the operands, and combine them in any order, and get the same result. Then if you want to perform that operation

I think you have it wrong. As far as I understand, an operation is idempotent if you can perform it any number of times consecutively (without another operation taking place), and have the resulting state be the same. So for the elevator, y

How has this article highlighted that though? Eritrea is clearly not functioning very well, and is quite poor, so I don't think it is something we should hold up as an example of how a city can be organized.

Reflog may not be known by the average git user, but I think it is pretty convenient - just call `git reflog`, copy the hash before the rebase, and checkout/reset to that hash. Doesn't get much easier than that.

Including the estimated gas savings is extremely misleading. I want to know how much the car will cost upfront, not how much I will save over some number of years. And how do they determine the savings? If I am cross-shopping with a Chevy b
