For what it's worth, I made the same mistake and have since discovered that ZFS on Linux is a smooth experience. Raided a pair of SSDs and now enjoy a (single) real command line and native docker containers.

Have you verified that CH_PD stays low when the ATTiny is asleep? I'd consider putting a 10k pulldown on the CH_PD line so it defaults into powerdown mode. Do you have a multimeter? Insert it between VCC and U1 and between VCC and US1

There are three big things to look out for on the software side. Are you using deep sleep? Are you putting your sensors into shutdown mode between measurements? How long does it take to take a measurement, connect, and report? On the hardwa

I had a similar experience with Lenovo. I was unable to use my device for nearly six months, during which I went through about four returns. They kept sending my laptop back broken! They sent it with a range of issues - initially, they fail

I think many of us who use Windows take for granted the number of tools we use to cover over our pain points. I use Msys2, Cmder, a bunch of custom tool builds, and some Powershell scripts. This setup works great; I'm productive with i

There are official builds of nano for win32 (Cygwin). In my experience, they work quite well - especially when paired with Cmder/ConEmu. https://www.nano-editor.org/dist/v2.5/NT/

Development kits are expensive due to low sales volume, no cost optimization, and buyers' price insensitivity. There is a huge amount of value in having a known good implementation on hand when designing hardware or firmware. Additiona

No onboard USB kills it for me, especially at that price point. For something in that price range, I'm more interested in the ESP-210 - it's tiny and has USB-Serial built in.

Anyone who enjoys this sort of work may also like the book Complexity by Waldrop, which covers the history of Complexity theory through the eyes of the people who created it. It's a really fun story that's inspirational and intell

Perhaps it would be possible to do positioning from balloons that reference ground stations or stars. It would be more expensive than the current systems but cheaper than a fully ground based system.

What happened to the native Reading List? It was in Nightly for a time, but it appears to have disappeared recently. I love Pocket, but I was looking forward to migrating to a setup where my data was kept private.

Soundrop was the best music discovery service I've used in my life, and it shut down as a result of Spotify killing their app platform. Still searching for something even close to comparable.
