Why wouldn't you make key volatile? Shouldn't that solve all the problems? Or is it because it would be to slow because the compiler can't do that many optimizations in the rest of the function any more?

I like the O´Reilly books, they just use a different animal on the cover for each book.

They replaced the old design? I liked that more. But I didn't know they had ones which are not yellow. Do you know what the different colors mean?

Yes that is correct. The default value gets created when the function is interpreted ("compiled").

It's strange that this took so long, and only in Berlin. If you want to drive a Taxi in Germany, you need a special driver's license. If you want to open a taxi company you need to prove that you are reliable and secure. Additiona

Where do you get that many libraries that aren't converted? Most, at least the ones still under development, are.

Do you have specifics on why strcat would be vulnerable? Or is it just because "abc"+"def" == "abcd" + "ef"?

In university we have cameras over some parts of the professors table which are directly projected on the screen. Works great without the the drawbacks of an overhead projector.

Have you tried Xylitol[1]? I use it to sweet my tea instead of regular sugar. And it should return your mouth ph fast, instead of rinsing with baking soda with doesn't sound nice. [1] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/

Most people who live in Germany in cities don't have houses, only flats. How would you ever charge an electric car there? Driving to one of the superchargers each time would be pretty annoying and probably kill the battery.

It wouldn't (probably) render the algorithms who rest upon the assumption that P!=NP useless. You still have to find a fast algorithm for the problem. Just because it is in P doesn't mean there exists a (practical) fast algorithm

In Python you have a "real" constructor you can use: __new__. So I think it's good not to call __init__ a constructor. Unless of course you differ in my opinion that __new__ is a constructor?

There's a book called "Blackout" with that exact plot. I thought it was good written and the scenario not too impossible.

How would you extend the functionality? Programming in JavaCard is really not fun (my opinion) and the space and processing power are really limited. The biggest use of it is verifying information (like pins or certificates), but what else

Also the standard library is really small. So after a short amount of time you have used almost all of it a few times.

They don't claim that they can crack PGP and SSH. They claim that they can crack some encryption, if it is weak. Which is quite obvious and not news or interesting.

It's really not that difficult. I live on basically the same budget (also a student in Germany), as do many others I know. I have a washing mashine which is over ten years old, but still works fine. Got it from somebody who bought a new one

There are some services like "Captcha Brotherhood" were you get points for solving captchas of other users, which you then can use to let other users solve your captchas.

It's really good if you want to include lots of "sciency stuff" like formulas, source code and maybe graphs. Also Bibliographies are easy in LaTeX. Plus it's free, and you don't have to learn a new tool.

Yeah, but that doesn't help if you have the device which decrypts the signal. Then you should be able to get the key (which would probably still be fairly difficult).
