Nice tool. I wish it would incorporate something like iodine though for really restrictive networks or ones with login portals. DNS almost always gets through.

Fairphone is only one example. There are many repairable designs that are waterproof. For example Samsung's XCover series can be opened, have removable batteries and are waterproof. It's a matter of priorities, waterproofing just

The pc CD-Rom version also had beautiful cutscenes, a movie clip and music. I liked it much more than Dune II thigh the replay value of the latter was much better. But I feel much more love for Dune I.

The underlying idea of the right to repair program is for companies to start designing their stuff with self-repair in mind. It's not only about making spare parts available. So that you don't need hundreds of dollars of equipme

This is a problem with Hetzner yes. Last time they wanted a copy of my ID. I blacked out my social security number as this is considered private for Dutch citizens (even the police advises people to black this part out) and it took some arg

In Europe the automated face scan is optional. You can also choose to go to a real customs agent. And the fact that privacy is currently a gone thing in air travel doesn't mean we should keep adding tech that cements the status quo, we

What I do on my work Thinkpad is disabling standby altogether. I just let it hibernate. Windows 10 and 11 are very quick at restoring. Not instant but good enough.

But you're not accounting for the latency added by the many satellite hops needed to get there :) Every sat will need to do queueing and signal processing.

Basically like Iridium V1. It went bankrupt and only when the network was bought for dimes on the dollar did it become profitable. Eventually it did find a sustainable business model though even for its new satellites.
