I would think this can only ever be useful in places where a connection is needed only for a short time, e.g. to compensate the loss of a connection. Not only are battery tankers a huge investment, they also have an extremely short lifespan

I just can't get over these numbers. Imagine people had instead spent 120 billion into fighting climate change, it would have made a real impact.

I have not thought this through, but it seems like that is what you get for implementing such a law in the first place? Why should an agency be allowed to spy on non-americans more anyway? If they have a good reason, they can spy, and they

I would assume that the biggest factor in this would be that the racks and solar panels make it very difficult to use large machinery such as tractors and harvesting machines? Somehow this isn't even addressed.

As I said, civilized countries. Unfortunately, lots of countries do not adhere to their own constitution anymore, which I believe is mostly caused by a lack of technology understanding. I would guess that the judges that force Alice to hand

There is a legal advantage that passwords have that passkeys and FIDO and so on do not have. In civilized countries, no one can force you to hand over a password (as you have a right to not incriminate yourself). That does not hold for prop

How was it meaningful? What would the info "This one is called 5nm and this one is called 8nm" give you? Because it didn't really say anything about performance or watt or performance per watt. I have an old ATI Radeon HD4850

I think you are mistaken, the original article in french states that the BitLocker computer was not cracked by the local police, but was accessed later by some cyber-department of the police: https://nantes.indymedia.org/pos

I think the most likely situation is this: Bitlocker can save backup keys in the cloud where they can probably be subpoenad by the police. If the victim used a password manager without encryption (e.g. browser) and used or saved the same pa

Bitlocker also saves encryption backup keys in the Microsoft cloud where they can probably subpoenad? Then they might have found the password saved on the windows PC somewhere.

Why would you take care of major offenders first, instead of taking care of all offenders at once? It's not as if you shutting down your heating means the coal power plant next door looks at your chimney and goes "Hey lads, this s
