You can just keep shorting it (depending on the timeframe). Just pay whoever gave you the shares a monthly "rent". You are just betting that you will be making a profit that is larger. So if it takes 3 months to go down, you need

GrapheneOS is extremely easy to install, the installer is literally a website where you click "Install now" while the phone is connected via USB. It is also one of the most usable custom OSes I've used and it is not only more

Isn't there some kind of physics law that says every 2nd Windows version sucks? I think it fits quite well, XP was good, Vista sucked, Win 7 was good, 8 sucked, 10 was good, 11 sucks. Windows 12 is going to be the next version to try I

I've been using Arch Linux for the past 6 years and I have rarely had anything break. In between I had to use Ubuntu for 6 months due to some software that would only run on Ubuntu, which I found horrible. Arch Linux might be difficult

I have ssh enabled on all my servers, sometimes port 22 sometimes other ports. I have never had a break in. I use fail2ban but I don't know if that's really necessary. But I use it anyway to secure other services (e.g. wordpress i

Double Letter, Triple Letter (I think). It triples the amount of points you get for the letter that is on it. So try to put valuable letters on that spot.

I also had an irritating amount of delay on that button. Also using Android (GrapheneOS) with the Vanadium browser (Chromium-based). Edit: Seeing the comment about websockets and server location, I am in the EU so it's possibly that. I

This. It would have been (relatively) easy for Ring to encrypt the video data so that they themselves can't access it. Obviously I don't wish it upon the individuals that use these cameras but I would probably smirk if data gets l

Outside Europe? Identity verification is mandatory in the EU and afaik there are very few states that haven't implemented it in local law (the netherlands and croatia, I think).

And how much code is generally written that actually is compute heavy? All the code I've ever written in my job is putting and retrieving data in databases and doing some basic calculations or decisions based on it.

If the key is encrypted with your password, I don't see how that compromises security by a lot. If they adapt the javascript to break encryption on a large scale, that would sooner or later come out. Yes, they could target specific peo

I assume they just took down some random 500 cameras (the photo even shows a shop that probably has their own camera system to prevent theft) and claimed it as a huge success against the mafia. This is what happens when you need to show tha

As far as I understood it so far, it was actually companies that pushed (legal) opioid consumption in the US? They influenced doctors to prescribe lots of opioids, and then people get addicted and start buying it off the streets.

The number of opioid deaths in the USA is crazy! The article says that the number of overdose deaths is 110,000 per year. The EU has 1.5 times as many inhabitants as the US and has only 5000 drug related deaths per year!

My old laptop is more than powerful enough for Plex and backups, and idles at around 3W. Why someone would use a desktop PC as a home server in Europe is beyond me.

Just use an ORM? If you code your workload in Python with SQLAlchemy you can just swap out any (relational) db. If you want to do benchmarking or something, this might not be the best approach, since each db might need some specific tuning
