C libraries are easiest to install system wide. The situation with multiple versions of libc is tricky to work with. Not impossible, just not easy to comprehend by an average dev.

There are boxes you plug to your CarPlay enabled car that run Android. Run Google Maps on that and you're golden. No need to carry/connect your phone to the car anymore

They could just embed tracking code to the streaming service? As in: count how many times the chunk of video was sent to the clients, rather than relying on the clients to work as THEY intended... Client-side analytics must end

I don't think they'll care about this. Probably only 1% of their customers are capable of "hacking" this. As long as the tablet replace is cheaper than getting a new AC unit from another company it's fine for them.
