People have been predicting that for longer than either of us have been alive, and we’re not really any closer to the reality thst doesn’t involve brain surgery.

The volume is incredible, but I suspect that ignoring most of the depth is useful for microplastic, which is buoyant. You’ll still have to consider some depth, vertical mixing will be a factor, but it will still be a fraction of the total v

I connected quite a bit earlier, mostly Usenet and BBS’, and when EFnet came along a lot of that. People like to talk about Eternal September and other depredations of communities, but the truth is that while things functioned more smoothly

Oh come on, if people as a huge and diverse group were capable of working together towards a single, mutually beneficial, yet difficult long term goal we wouldn’t be in this situation in the first place. People will leave a region after i

That’s probably a factor, but the culture of entrenched government bureaucracy and pay far below what can be gained in the private sector can’t be helping either. Plus, a lot of hackers are fairly ideologically opposed to “big government” i

There’s no requirement that he lie that way in a regulatory filing, previous posters are trying to explain to you that it’s enough to make the claim publically. Lying in a filing would be a different crime.

Considering he’s also facing a defamation suit for calling a man a pedophile on Twitter, and then doubling down on the claim later, I think we can afford to be less charitable about Musk at this point. He has an inexplicably fragile ego, wh

It really is great. I was having terrible input lag before, and now it’s completely gone. Everything from switching apps to opening a new webpage seems zippier too. Autocorrect seems to have gotten a bit of an upgrade, it’s suggestions are

Proton is good, Tutanota is good, but my personal favorite is Fastmail, especially for family members who don’t need or want the security bells and whistles, but also don’t want Google snooping on them.

This guy will just say anything, won’t he? I already knew he wasn’t a constitutional scholar, but this is rich even coming from a shill with as little self respect as Pai. The broader problem is that California's micromanagement poses

Very true, all in all “not a solved problem” is factually incorrect and, like many safety concerns, based on problems of reactors from decades in the past. Meanwhile global warming and pollution are very much present day concerns and we nee

It’s a solved problem actually, it’s just a lack of political will to enact the solutions. Besides, it’s not like pollution (i.e. waste) from fossil fuels does something other than pollute. Compared to that, vitrification and interment repr

I figured out the best way to shut up evangelists in those situations, it is 100% not rude, 100% effective. They start in with Jesus or Allah or Kraznor-The-Many-Headed, and you... get techical. Don’t engage the subject matter of whichever
