Well, I don't think it's terrible, it says so there: relative to other cities of 200.000 inhabitants (probably in other states). According to Google, it's below the U.S. average, and N.Y. cities spend 20.000 or more per stude

Maybe for bad actors. I work for an U.S. company and we were explicitly required to get opt-in by the compliance officer. And it's messages users actually want to get (we have over 99.9% opt-in).

Yes, CBT is probably the best therapy for this kind of thing - in fact, phobia of flying is THE case study (very much their version of the todo-app :) ).

I thought I was bright carrying around my portable hard drive with my backups on my backpack. Until one day I got robbed and I lost both my laptop AND my backups... (and USB sticks, etc). That sucked.

The good news is, any moderately successful software company / startup is probably worth at least a million. So, while it looks crazy at this point in your career, it's not beyond your potential. If you're going the employee

I think it was a reasonable solution, the article's title is click-baitish in that the ruling was for a non-commercial use. Also, the infringer swiftly complied with the takedown notice. So, don't go around using non-attributed ph

If you get a journalist interested, you can tell your story to him (or her). They do sometimes highlight things that wouldn't be what you would have, or distort things a bit, but it would get out there.

Their marketing is failing, how come I didn't hear of it... I want something like that, I bought the old Xiaomi headset (basically a Google Cardboard) and I can't run Netflix on it (which was what I wanted them for :( ) The Standa

Have you tried five-a-side soccer? Great sport! But it does need a special pitch for sure - much smaller than an 11-a-side field but still a hindrance. Over here (Uruguay) there's a whole cottage industry of five-a-side soccer fields,

Here in Uruguay we don´t have cheap energy but we do have a ridiculous number of both professional and amateur leagues and coaches (and a lot of grassland to convert into soccer fields) For a population of 3 million: - Pro league with 30 pr

Well, I've read that it's actually gone a bit down from it's peak (some sketchy estimates put the active player base at 12 million, down from a 20 million peak), as games such as Hearthstone and fatigue eroded the playerbase,

I mean, the name "United States of America" would also fall into that description, but nobody's up in arms about it. Many people in South America think it's a ridiculous, pretentious name. It's not even the only U

I learned Android but it hasn't served me much (I had no plans on how to use it !!!). I do recommend the Coursera course. It's a good question to ask.

I'm probably not a good example, I've usually been a "jack-of-all-trades" kind, but it's very often the very same way you did - you see jobs stop asking for a particular tech and start asking for others (and it'

Yeah, that's the current solution (and what, for instance, my father has - cameras, infrared barriers, etc.). But a movable webcam with some other capabilities (audio probably) might be a better deterrent.

Yes, the custom APIs exist but are very hacky. I work for one of the largest travel groups, I'm actually working on flight notifications, and they don't want to go there - no idea how other airlines or travel groups do it.
