I jumped to Gmail exclusively for my personal mail in 2004 and never looked back. If my work email followed suit, I'd be thrilled.

I'm actually a little relieved after clicking through. The post is only talking about app updates, not syncing updates to your notebooks.

Wow, that article had a misleading headline. The revelation: "Well over half of [the University of the Free State's] web traffic was served via IPv6 after its network was dual stacked with IPv6." The University's deputy

Well, understand that the context matters. It's definitely something worth discussing! But whether it's a good look or a bad look depends on the discovery. If you'd found it from, say, Jezebel's critical preview versus a

In this scenario, have I already discovered your service prior to the app's availability? If so, I (personally) don't pay much attention to media blurbs on the site of the service/app itself. If I'm already using Exemplr

I'm not a mobile developer, so take what I say with a grain of salt, but as a user, I don't care about an app's age or whether it had a soft launch. Most apps are little more than opportunities to provide a bad user experienc

I like how the link you submitted appears to have come from a "please please please let me know when this app launches" mailing list. That's not a good look.

But users aren't QA testers. There's no way they "should" do anything. They're going to report feedback by the path of least resistance. Communicating through a review gives a user a lot of bang for their buck, beca

Human experience isn't divided up into silos. If economists notice something about biology from a different perspective, we should evaluate their findings, not immediately distrust or dismiss them.

If the phrase "Multimodal container transport really caught fire between 1955 and 1970" ignites anyone's interest, you should check out a book called The Box: How the Shipping Container Made the World Smaller and the World Ec

At least in the case of my thermostat, all remote functions are mediated by a server on the thermostat company's side that dials into the thermostat over the Web. In order to compromise the thermostat, you'd have to know how to id
