What do you mean by "We don't eat carbon"? All food that humans consume is mostly made out of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen. The carbon is indeed breathed out in the form of carbon dioxide, but no animal is capable of

That is a problem. Thankfully, the language in Github's terms of service mitigates this a bit, although it'd be still ideal for the author to add a license too: "If you set your pages and repositories to be viewed publicly, y

For reference, the proper way to get a *const T from a &[T] is the .as_ptr() method. The way &[T] (and any other type not marked with #[repr(C)]) is laid out is implementation-defined, so accessing its internals isn't recommend

Maybe solar storms? The Sun sends out quite a lot of radiation from time to time. Earth is protected by its magnetic field and atmosphere, the Moon and Mars not so much.

OCaml was a really strong influence on Rust. The first Rust compiler was written in OCaml. Rust's traits are also similar to Haskell's typeclasses.

I don't honestly see how that would help. A rewrite is a lot of work, and it doesn't seem the bottlenecks here are language-specific anyway.

Haiku is POSIX compatible, so at the very least there are the standard C APIs. It is true you need to call into C++ for things like GUIs though (unless you use a port of a C GUI library).

The reason Box is used there is that the type of a closure in Rust is anonymous, so can't be named as a return type. Once the `impl Trait` syntax for returns is available, the heap allocation won't be necessary any more, because y
