Interesting how the Rust implementation of glob currently seems to be the slowest out of the linear time implementations. I guess maybe not too much optimisation effort was put into it?

I was wondering before if it would count as a planet if it wasn't bound to Earth. It is around 6 times more massive than Pluto. There are also other, bigger moons in our solar system, such as Ganymede, which has about half the mass of

Note that most commonly used terminals don't support sixel graphics (The readme for libsixel has a list of some terminals that do have support), while a lot more terminals support 24-bit colours (all terminals that use a new enough lib

I have written something similar before here: https://github.com/FreeFull/termimage . My program though is just a simple toy, since it doesn't even consider the size on the terminal, and doesn't play animated

Maybe for some reason they clear the screen first before redrawing? That would certainly cause a flicker.

You will also see ^M on the end of each line in vim, if you open a CRLF line terminated file in it, but it thinks it's a LF line terminated file.

An interesting thing to note is that if you put a unix terminal into raw mode, you also have to use both CR and LF, because LF only moves the cursor down, but doesn't move it to the start of the line.

It doesn't happen with photons. Photons themselves always travel exactly at the (vacuum) speed of light, even in water, and they aren't charged particles. Cherenkov radiation happens with charged particles like electrons.

I leave my $SHELL set to bash, but have tmux launch fish. That way, any software that tries to start a shell of its own gets the POSIX sh-compatible shell it expects.

I'd say co-invented would apply more if he worked together with Leibniz on it. Instead, they both invented it independently, around the same time (with differing notation, but both gave the means to reach the same results).
