Solid glass is transparent to microwaves, but molten glass absorbs them pretty well. So, if you can get a piece of glass hot enough, the microwaves will be able to keep it hot.

The same goes for glass, although the energy difference isn't as big as with aluminium. The main problem with glass is that coloured glass can't easily be made into clear glass, so it gets used for making green/brown glass. G

Speaking of trees, massive reforestation could be one way to pull CO2 out of the atmosphere. As a bonus, you end up with a lot of lumber you can use for things like buildings.

In general, most laws of physics are reversible, so extrapolation backwards is as accurate as extrapolation forwards. In the case where it's just mostly motion and gravity, we can do it rather accurately.

I have a few questions: 1) What exactly do you mean by a supersolid? 2) How would this be described mathematically? What predictions would your theory make? 3) How does this account for some galaxies seeming to have large amounts of dark ma

I'm not sure if I'd compare a type system to training wheels. In general, a type system will be able to tell you that you're doing something wrong, but won't be able to correct it. You're still managing the memory&#

There's also the whole issue of figuring out what dark matter is made out of. Neutrinos account for a small part of it, but the rest is completely unknown.

As far as profit goes, you have to also keep in mind that wholesale prices are cheaper than low volume, so a restaurant won't pay as much for the exact same cut of beef as you would.

Even better, a chess board has 64 squares, so you can use a single 64-bit integer to store, say, the position of all white pawns, and repeat this for all the kinds of pieces. Then, you have a compact and fast data representation for your ch

It might still be better to extract it and burn it than to let it off-gas into the atmosphere on its own when the ice melts. Methane is a significantly stronger greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide.

Ideally, for safety reasons, you'd use something like a neon transformer. They supply a very high voltage, but at the same time the output is current-limited, which decreases the chance you'll electrocute yourself.

A closure taking ownership of the closed-over variables doesn't actually imply that it is FnOnce (only callable once). You can perfectly well have a Fn or FnMut closure that owns its captures, as long as you don't try to do any mo
