https://xkcd.com/975/ I can't resist linking to the relevant xkcd. It's definitely nice to see this actually done in real life

It could also be the case that advertising changes which particular product people choose (say, which brand of beer), but doesn't affect the demand for beer overall.

The thing about mad cow disease is that it's a prion disease, which operate very differently from viral and bacterial diseases. Prion diseases can just appear out of nowhere, and can be spread by consumption or contact with affected ti

Part of the problem here would be that none of the claims sent to MumboJumbo have been through the DMCA. They all use Youtube's internal system instead, which was built to appease the big music publishers.

On Linux, the other solitaire program worth looking at is KPatience. It only has 12 types of solitaire, but has a pretty nice interface. It's probably worth it installing both PysolFC and KPatience.

This is why aluminium drinks cans have a lining of plastic on the inside. So even with aluminium containers, you don't get away from plastic.

You should look at https://pysolfc.sourceforge.io/ . It is open source, and besides the classic Klondike solitaire, also has over 1000 other solitaire games. And it definitely will be a lot more energy efficient, too.

Echoic memory is also very useful when someone says something, but you haven't understood them right away. There is also iconic memory, which stores the things you see and lasts less than a second.

The thing about dark matter is that because it doesn't seem to interact in any way other than gravitationally, there is no way for it to lose energy and clump together. So, collections of dark matter tend to stay rather diffuse. The wa

The interesting thing about sickle cell anaemia is that you get it if both copies of the gene are abnormal, you get the disease, but if just one of them is abnormal you don't get the disease but still get the resistance to malaria.

I feel like Rust has shown that mutability is ok, as long as you don't have both mutability and aliasing. Having a mutable object accessible from many places at the same time definitely is a recipe for bugs.
