Everyone but the OP understands how git works. Removing the file is exactly what I would expect to happen.

If I'm interviewing for a job and they ask me to do one of these tests I just say "no thanks". Any company that puts this sort of HR astrology above technical ability is not for me.

Python is fine as a scripting language, but people seem to forget that it's just that. It amazes me that some people think it's suitable for something like embedded development - in fact there's more than one implementation.

This guy found an interesting way to repeat-but-not-repeat a favourite bit of music. https://medium.com/@alexbainter/generating-more-of-my-favori...

Not great. I searched for halloumi as it was mentioned on the page and got "no information found". Honestly, I have no idea why there are so many things dogs apparently can't eat. It's amazing they survived this long and

Personally I've never felt any ageism throughout my career. I'm 53. My CV has my date of birth on it so my age is obvious at any point in the hiring process. I'm still a developer because I have no desire to move into managem

Let me introduce you to your right hand. That's your life partner right there. No problem. I take payment in cash or crypto.

I can't see that being practical. My setup for the last few years has been 2 ordinary monitors - one portrait and one landscape. I'll often read on the portrait and code on the landscape. It works for me. Give it a try.

A 90s page isn't a 90s page without an animated gif of man digging a hole with "under construction".

I know it's probably not critical to their bottom line, but I hope some variants come in a hobbist solderable package - QFP or at least QFN.

I find it weird how anyone would want to have a cat - especially if they claim to love animals. Why would you want a little tyrant in your house that occasionally goes outside to kill and torture smaller animals for fun and shit in your nei

Does anyone know if these work with the sensors and motor in LEGO Boost and WeDo 2.0? They're not included in the compatability list, but do have the LPF2 connector. I'm guessing they'll work, bu tnot sure.

I recently discover that my Canon printed does the same. It's very annoying. I've not got so much of a problem with the cheap printer / expensive ink model. I think most people are aware of this. However, disabling an entirel

Also, consider if you really need a laptop. A lot of people seem to use one by default even if they don't need it on the go.

Only Americans could quibble over what consitiutes the definition of a school shooting. Everyone else just expects to have no events per week that might meet even the broadest definition.

I'd say the title is a bit of a tongue in cheek clickbait parody. Also, unlike most clickbait this is well worth a read.

One of those bad ideas that crops up again and again and again. Any multipurpose machine will be bad at all things. You're far better off getting a separate CNC mill, 3D printer, laser cutter, etc. Even if this costs a bit more and tak

I did a tour of those disused platforms. I thought the most interesting thing was all the posters advertising fake products - to avoid any copyright issues. They were so good that I felt like I'd seen some of the films advertised.

I'm not sure using Unreal is a risk. It's used commercially by a lot of companies for much more than gaming. It's also open source. Obviously not written in Rust though, if that's important.

It was .NET MicroFramework / Netduino that got me into playing with embedded programming and microcontrollers. Whilst I found it useful at the time (being a C# coder) the fact that it's interpreted and has a huge runtime means it&

I've kitesurfed near the Broomway. Really nice stretches of flat water when you get it right, but the tide comes in at a scary speed - or you have a 45 minute walk to get to the water - if you're there at the wrong time. I've

This may improve colour sensitivity, but by far the biggest vision problem due to ageing is long-sightedness. This does nothing for that.

I agree that Lego Boost (and WeDo 2.0) are similar but better suited to younger kids. Mine were 7 and 5 and loved both of them.

I recently had gmail putting my outgoing email in my own spam folder rather than sent items. When I've checked I've found that the recipient has received it but it's really odd behaviour.

Bear in mind that different countries have different interpretations. I'm guessing you're all arguing about a US view. In the UK, "fired" would mean that you lost your job because you did something seriously wrong.
