Maybe there are different recommendations where you live, but here in Sweden and most of the hits on a web search suggest max dosage of paracetamol is 4g/day spread out.

Since cmd+<number> now switches tab in Terminal.app, and the other few things I like, such as remembering the scrollbacks, number of tabs and cwd's, I find I have no use of iTerm2 any longer. Plus, Terminal.app feels much faster.

I feel the same. I fondly remember doing hour-long raytracing on the Amiga and having set the priority to something low I never noticed the rendering going on. On the Mac, it seems no matter what I set the priorities of the involved process

No, I love Old Man's War but Collapsing Empire was a totally different book. It didn't help that Will Wheaton read it too.

I think AmigaOS 3 could be a nice kernel as it is. And to make it more Unix-y memory protection could be introduced but only for a new userland process with more traditional syscalls. It's a bit how DragonflyBSD is slowly converging to

Most Amiga games with parallax used dual playfields mode. AFAIK, you couldn't combine that with EHB. Shadow of The Beast used dual playfield graphics, not EHB. Agony too, for gameplay. Title screen etc could be EHB. https://

There's also a NASTY bit you can set so the Blitter gets the bus cycles it want, any CPU access will have to wait for a spare cycle. I'm not sure how much faster using that bit will make Blitter graphic operations in practise. I s

Unless I'm wrong, a drawback of using interleaved bitplanes to do fewer but larger blits is that the mask for the sprite shape gets bigger too. If you do several blits, one per bitplane, you get to use the same mask data, but when usin

A few games used the RAM intended for the Kickstart on A1000. The same game on A500 needed 1MB RAM.

I wonder how much the authors of C64/Amiga Bubble Bobble, R-Type, Paperboy, Ghost'n'Goblins, Buggy Boy, Solomon's Key, Pang, Arkanoid, Silkworm played the game? Those were actually good ports. Do you have a list of the g

Most racing games were horrible on the 8-bit computers. Even on the Amiga there were few actually good racing games. Lotus Esprit Challenge and Stunt Car Racer(God bless) was among the good ones.

Yes, of course, but I was thinking of the rest of the Vue app. Much of the things you do in a Vue app probably will not translate well into a postback-emulated no script variant without extensive work.

I grew up coding demo effects on the C64 and the Amiga. I always loved how the vblank synced ultra-smooth graphics slide over the screen while the CRT had a sort of magical "glow" to the picture. I sit here by a nice iMac but ofte

Doesn't most movies earn back the money the first days/weeks in the cinemas? But you might have a point for tv series. I suspect they have gotten much more expensive to make the last 1-2 decades.

I agree. I think even touch UIs should have some hints if you can click on something, and if you can click, force press, or long-press. It would be great if someone could make hover work on touch UIs. The great 1980's Mac OS UI was rea
