This is why I like Ubuntu Unity's notifications: - you can't click on them - if you hover them with the mouse, they go transparent - if you do try to click, the click will pass-through to the GUI element underneath. They never eve

It looks like you can configure it to pick one monitor or the other. It would be better for it to record all monitors, since the whole point of this app is to enable retroactive screen recording, and so I would like to choose the monitor af

I miss the command-line interface of Bazaar, and the fact that you can undo reverting any changes to a file. The equivalent in Git (`git checkout -- filename`) is impossible to undo. I'm still going to use Git, it's a really great

I'm always on the look-out for software that supports right-to-left languages (and Arabic specifically). Sadly, this doesn't. The final rendered video doesn't render Arabic properly. Looks cool, though, thanks for sharing!

It's true that the most well-known languages are likely to attract the most criticism by virtue of being so well-known. It's true that Javascript and its ecosystem has improved. However, it's also true that there remains some

pipenv[1] and other GitHub repos have a little badge in the REAMDE.md entitled "say thanks", which takes you to a simple form [2] where you can say thanks. I thought it was a cool idea. [1] - https://github.com/ken

With Gmail's web interface, it's more complicated than that. Images are loaded by default, but only through a proxy: Google's servers go fetch the image for you and then serve you the image. They only do this once you open th

Yes, people who promote a language are biased. But so are people who resist that language: they tend to have existing investments in their favourite languages, and have inertia in moving to a new language. I personally haven't decided

The article doesn't make it clear what this support looks like. If it's optional and complicated, people are not going to use it. And if it's different than what ProtonMail uses internally, all the promises about security mig

What are the security guarantees when emailing someone who does not use ProtonMail? If there is an encrypted mode, can this mode be turned off? This is critically important, and yet most of these email providers who talk up their security f

The topic of prostitution seems to come up regularly on HN for some reason, and in general the comments defend the use of prostitutes and argue for its legalisation. It is refreshing to see a small break in this pattern.
