"Independent media" is very new in Eastern Europe. You'd be amazed at the links politicians have with TV stations and newspapers.

Allowing Poland into the EU was a mistake. It takes decades for a country to build up its democratic political culture. Something like this wouldn't even be conceivable in Denmark or the Netherlands.

Good point. ISPs do not want to be dumb pipes because frankly there's no money in that. Every ISP is looking at the lucrative media market, bundling their own services.

GameCube and the WiiU? Nintendo owns its survival on handhelds. Pokémon prints money since 1996.

Nintendo found its niche. They couldn't compete with MS or Sony in the home console market. But they OWN portables. Especially now that Sony bowed out after the Vita.

Funny, my socialist country ended up with a small surplus in the budget last year. Meanwhile the US has a trillion deficit.

Doesn't every country have that? I live in a place were by law everyone is entitled to a house and a monthly €1000. And there is still poverty and social ills. I mean the basic MO here is to throw endless amounts of money at every pro

Ha Mao almost sounds as a Catholic priest! Capitalism saves us all. Children become too expensive so couple's will only have 2. Or none, if Korea and Japan predict a trend.

The Constitution talks about militias. Not individual citizens. The Supreme Court ended up INTERPRETING the Constitution so it ended up what we have today. Needless to say 90% of US gun owners wouldn't make it in the military and thus

Say what you will about US police departments: they keep the population in line and when shit goes down they don't run away. Trust me: you do NOT want the police to be your friend. They tried that experiment here.
