Many states in the South are dragging down the rest of the nation. Sorry. That creationism thing, that climate denial thing, and that extreme conservatism thing stunt progress in the rest of the country.

This is the downside of IoT. Give me devices and frameworks I can run myself. I don't want to be dependent on a third party for my god damn thermostat. (Which I now am. Going to look into it soon. Hoping it runs Linux so we can demand

On one hand, I want to bash WebAssembly because it takes away our ability to see what we're running on our own PCs. On the other, it helps us slowly get away from the mess that is modern JavaScript.

Dolphin is a masterpiece of engineering. The fact that it can emulate consoles so recent so well is a testament to the skill of the coders behind the project. They do an amazing job. I love reading the update posts.

I've been trying to tell people this for a while now. Bitcoin has to be the most wasteful software project ever made; I'm sure it has indirectly pumped millions of tons of CO2 into the atmosphere at this point. And for what? The b

Nothing of value was lost. Good riddance. Of course, they may very well just end up under a new owner, which might change things... a little... hopefully.

In the US, the signature means little; it must be ratified after the fact by a 2/3 vote of the Senate to come into effect. So - we have a bit of time to influence our lawmakers. It must be a huge, SOPA-level effort, but it can be done.

The Moto Z looks like an awesome phone. The lack of a headphone jack is a complete and utter deal-breaker. I'm not carrying a dongle around so I can use my headphones. (A quality dongle will need to have some size and heft; see the Sch

I want to love Tesla so bad, but stories like this remind me that they're still putting out an early-adopter product. I can deal with being an early adopter of, say, a phone, but a car? Where one little mistake can make the difference

Can we start panicking now? We need to get to 350 ppm of CO2 in the atmosphere and we're above 400, with no easy solutions on the horizon.

This is cool and all, but I'm worried that Google will just pull the plug during one "spring cleaning" event. Plus T-Mobile's $100/4 lines/2 GB per line is just unbeatable right now... cheaper and more data.
