I had to set up an entire government team's workflow that was required to be isolated completely from any network. I had to create multiple remotes that were filepaths that pointed to specific USB drives. Depending on which USB drive w

I 100% back breaking up Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile to create more wireless carriers. More competition is good for everyone.

I would prefer to see Verizon or AT&T broken up before T-Mobile is. TMobile wasn't anywhere near as big as Verizon or AT&T pre-Sprint merger. And they still aren't as big.

I do the same thing with my girlfriend's daughter. She's 2.5 and I try my hardest to talk with her, not to her. I want her to ask questions and try to think about why I am doing the things I am doing around my house. My girlfriend

I don't think React will be replaced for a very long time. The only library that has somewhat similar adoption rates to early React is Vue. I personally prefer Vue over React and I use it at work. But I would be happy using React as we

Due to the nature of my job, I interact with some of the more noteworthy geospatial experts on a weekly basis. These people will take any time of the day to explain to you all of the microscopic nuances about how any GNSS works.

It doesn't help that the size of SUVs and Pickup trucks have grown over the past 20 years. They take up more width and the length of truck beds are shrinking in place of more cabin space. I would love to find a truck that has a similar

When I was in driver's ed in high school in America, there was a push to teach 8 and 4. As far as I am aware, teaching students 10 and 2 has long since been phased out supposedly due to the increase of arm injuries in the event of an a

Vue in general has been a godsend to me at least. When I was in college, we used AngularJS for web development courses at the time. My first job had me working with Qt and Tkinter. When I finally had the chance to do web development again,

I'm currently looking for a job and I can't tell you the amount of times the job description or the experience required doesn't match what the team is actually looking for. Also, I very clearly lay out in my resume and with t

I am running into this problem where I currently work. I'm not a rockstar developer but I can finish my tasks pretty quickly. But when management won't allow me to help take over some tasks to alleviate my coworker's growing

As someone who was a government worker, a lot of the issues why projects go over budget is because management believes that a single developer can do the workload of 4. So the product never gets delivered and that developer leaves to work s

If I don't go into management, and assuming there are absolutely no more cost of living adjustments or changes to how much my pay scale pays, my salary will cap out around 150k a year. If I go into management, whether it's technic

I get paid a decent salary with room to grow in the government. I am not on the GS scale though so my pay increases are much higher than someone on it. I have a strict 40 hour work week, currently get 20 annual leave days and 13 sick days a

While I understand that Eufy had a security issue last year where a very small number of users were logged in the wrong accounts and saw other people's camera feeds, they quickly patched it and didn't beat around the bush about wh

I don't think they are paid as well as they should be considering the need for most nurses now to be on-call 24/7 and dealing with the stress from patients and their families, and administrative bloat.

I only use Google to learn more about procedures, not to convince me to get said procedure. When my coworker and I got into a conversation about LASIK vs PRK, I found a Hacker News thread on Google that had discussed SMILE surgery as an alt
