I agree, that feels wrong to me... When I was younger (~15) I also did some "fun" (aka stupid) stuff with the school computer network and in the end they got me and I received a "formal warning" (it was in France). In th

It's funny because here in europe, power plugs with 16A (some are 20A) are actually the norm: at 230V they can deliver 3600W/4600W !

I've discovered the only ones still using OpenOffice anymore are the ones that installed it year ago, before the fork, and don't know that LibreOffice still exists.. Frankly the difference in features between the two is impressive

If you're interested, the book "The Ministry for the Future" from "Kim Stanley Robinson" (who also wrote the Red Mars trilogy) talks about that. It's really interesting to read

I used ubiquiti rocket M5 to go from my house (without internet) to my parents house (21km away). It works well (50mbit/s). For the curious: https://www.reddit.com/r/homelab/comments/j4y4f4/my_21km_p

I sometimes drive my parents (gas) car. It feels so archaic: slow response, clunky, insane engine noise. I love returning to my electric car afterwards.

To me they are really aids. Of course you keep being concentrated, but I found that it takes out a lot of mental load like keeping the car straight, constantly tweaking the accelerator, etc.. It just makes the trips easier on the brain, and

I had a similar experience with Proton's recruitment. They sent me a dumb IQ test with stupid questions like (how many triangles are in this triangle). I answered with "Way too many", and that was the end for me

I'd love to be able to buy "cheap" batteries that are big, large, heavy, but cheap (per kWh). Sadly there are many startups but none are selling as of now. The only one I found ("Salt battery") was more expensive th

Your price is good. 15kW will produce ~450MWh in 20 years (1500 hours of sun per year, varies between countries). 20k$/450MWh is 4cts/kWh which is pretty good IMHO

I installed solar myself last year. I was able to buy 320Wp panels for 160€. Last week I bought some for my parents and they were 370Wp@119€. The frustration quickly lessens when you think that prices 10years ago were nearly 5-fold
