Giggled, imagining all those muscle memory typos. It took me a while to start typing "myself" properly instead of "mysql", thanks to Postgres.

I'm not sure if that still holds true, but IIRC they've had some telemetry in place and refused to disable it unless you get an Enterprise subscription or something. Wonder why would I use that instead of kubectl+kubectx (and powe

Surely this is an option, but the risk is higher than ever. If you win the genetic lottery - good for you but cry havoc if you don't and not well-employed/have savings... chances are that you and your loved ones will have a misera

Apologies for ranting but this topic resonates too much. Housing prices are 9x salary vs 4.5x salary in the 70s and it takes a while to save up. Personal data point: it took me winning an IPO lottery to start thinking about having kids for

Just passing feedback from my peers at the surveillance van: fantastic joke.

Except finance. At certain scale (in my case, 5 figures/mo spend with a vendor and up), paying upfront is not something finance usually likes and NET-60/NET-90 is the norm.

Google Meet is a great example of an app that uses AV and works well, running in a browser. Even with a large number of participants - and no client required. On the other hand, Zoom web client is an afterthought, to put it nicely.

An aggression uncalled for. Be better than that. Provide feedback, show empathy, and assume people here are acting in good faith - because more often than not - they do so.

I've been using Apple products for 20 years and Butterfly MBP - for me - has been the worst MacBook experience ever. You know, that feeling that your tool of trade can fail on you at any moment. Extremely low trust levels.

For a decent bread, get a Bread Maker and do it yourself. They are ridiculously easy to use, they do most of the work themselves, you just need ingredients.

Node 16 graduated to LTS on 20 Apr 2021. Lambda added support for Node 16 just last month, basically 13 months after. I hope they add Node 18 sooner than that.
