Surely it's just that the other domain used to point at a website hosted on Digital Ocean, which has recycled the IP address? The old user just has bothered to update their DNS records.

I'd guess it's a calculation in the order of: We build 50, plug them in, make $500,000 in 3 months We build 50, sell them all, make $250,000 in 1 month But I'm sure they'll have a couple they keep for themselves, and plu

It's been in place on TalkTalk's network for 2 years now, it really doesn't break things. It's not particularly aggressive, and only looks for HTTP and HTTPS traffic, not VPNs etc. Whether you agree with it, like it, or

OVH are great as long as you don't need to get in touch with them - If one of their servers break, you're better migrating to a new box than trying to fix it.

Yeah pretty much exactly that. They gave me an IP address, subnet mask, and gateway, I preconfigured it, and posted them the board in a cheap case, plus the power supply with plug. They invoice me annually for the power used including an am

My original Beaglebone has been stuck in a colo facility for a while now (18 months?) and has cost me about $20 of hosting fees so far. The power consumption is stupidly low, the colo company had to find a different meter to measure it from

The front page of http://dwp.gov.uk/ says in pretty big writing "We have moved to www.gov.uk/dwp" Which is a much nicer site: https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/department-for-w... Of course, they could break every link out the

I might be missing something, but that link really only talks about the potential benefit of a file already being cached locally on the end-user's device. There's still a significant benefit in just storing the file closer to the end-user,

Yes, we should all stick to using .com at $50 per year per domain, and we all should be using Network Solutions because they're the original provider of it.

I think it's rather sad when a project says they're open source, then says things like : "You'll need hosting for your blog no matter what, but our service will be the most powerful way of running Ghost - and the easiest to get started with

The banks could do this, but in general they don't seem to - it's too annoying for their customers when the chip is covered in dirt, a bit damaged, whatever.

Most paid for apps (though not all) sell exactly the same analytics that free apps do - why turn away an extra revenue stream? Unless the developer has committed to not selling your data, they probably are already doing it.

No I don't believe so, the original "source sites" are all done by court order, so people like ORG have reported on them, but clone sites, and new DNS names for existing sites, are simply blocked by request of the BPI. "Once a site is block
