For context to other readers, Negitivefrags is talking about Path of Exile[0] and seems to be downplaying the success GGG has achieved in the last few years. The regular release of compelling content has driven PoE into a great position as

Allow me to shill for Concourse[0]. It's oriented around 'tasks' composed into 'pipelines'. Each task either fails or succeeds with the yaml pipeline definition providing hooks into either state to proc other tasks.

TSX is actually relatively bare for what it offers as transactional memory. IBM's Power8 and Blue Gene are significantly robust in that area. For numbers, here's some for Thread-Level Speculation [0], though simulated and not agai

So, ctrl-f for d3 yielded no results in an article about SVG... If you want to make impressive visualizations in very little code, I suggest you look at d3js. Here's the start of a series of fantastic tutorials done by Mike Bostock, fo

A management game for arpgs. I don't like spending 8+ hours on a build only to have it die to something stupid in hardcore, so I'm trying to condense the experience into 15 to 20 minutes. The core gameplay loop is making choices f

The 'optimal' store really depends on the type of data and queries you're targeting. [0] is probably a good place to start for comparisons. I'd also recommend the other reading in my previous post, but that is much longe

The 'store' portion buys you a lot of raw performance because its modern architecture friendly. tl;dr, frame it as the row store being an array of structures while the column store is a structure of arrays. Then, your basic way of
