According to this: http://top10hell.com/top-10-countries-with-most-bicycles-per... (no idea about veracity of that data), Netherlands claimed 16.5 million cyclists cycling 2.5 km/day on average; compared to US with 100

Well, on a PG 9.1.9 instance, which has fsync=on and an older Intel i7 on an Intel SSD, my 8-process program inserting a 120-byte TEXT value into a (SERIAL, TEXT) table, with transactions each doing 10 inserts, manages to finish inserting

Thanks, I've spent a few months with Feedly but InoReader feels much more right! While Feedly does not allow you to export OPML, it still syncs with Google Reader so unless you've changed your feeds very recently, you can get them

I agree that recursive queries overcomplicate things greatly. Store the whole thing as a semi-typed JSON document, consider adding a thin caching layer to avoid re-parsing it on every hit (perhaps with some kind of sticky load balancing if

Hmm, I have a hard time seeing a difference, but this is a large screen and a decent computer. What uglieness should be fixed by this? I use Oracle Java 1.7.0_21-b11 64-bit. Those hundreds of Java flags are a mystery to me.

PyCharm does this. In addition to doing type inference while you have your project open, you can while debugging it run it and make it collect type information. That's quite a bit slower than usual, but once done you will get extra typ

I think it's a great update. Everyone already using C++ on a platform that has the required tooling (also considering libraries, IDEs) will benefit from updating. Compare to that Python 2.x to Python 3.x. I have no interest in updating my X
