I think it's a great update. Everyone already using C++ on a platform that has the required tooling (also considering libraries, IDEs) will benefit from updating. Compare to that Python 2.x to Python 3.x. I have no interest in updating my XX kloc of Python code so that... unicode becomes cleaner?
