Regarding your Chamonix images, perhaps your friends uploaded photos taken at roughly the same time, with geo-tags? Nope. Family holiday. Of those there I am the only one with photos on Facebook - and in fact at the time was the only fami

I reckon they use image recognition too. I have a gash digital camera that gets a lot of use; no exif data beyond camera make/model. Anyway; in 2005 I went on a skiing trip to Chamonix. Pics were uploaded about a month later, no Facebook ac

Linux netbooks were meant to be the solution to that. Except they never really sold.. I think Mac/Windows simply has more mindshare amongst consumers.

I think the real advantage of Envato is that it can help upcoming creative types with product validation. I finally convinced my brother to submit some of his music clips to AudioJungle and he was thrilled when they actually sold. Ok, so as

But that situation is already solved in the MVC world; with filters, callbacks and validation. Having just finished a pretty complex "application" of this sort (which cannibalized Knockout to get what I needed...) my view is that most stuff

I guess it depends on how the studies were conducted (I haven't looked). They may well take steps to eradicate this problem. However, I suspect you are right and - in actual fact - this may really be what the studies are concluding: that p

I think you have hit the nail on the head. This brings to mind one rather long and tedious "discussion" I had on Wikipedia last year that revolved around whether "above average" was an adequate way to summarise "Overweight and Obese". Getti

Having played with it; and after recently building an app using "jquery-ui or a combination of free and open source solutions" I'd say... because it's actually very good by comparison :) For an ISV, $399 is next to nothing.

If my washing machine emailed me that would likely get lost in the noise. A Twitter DM is, relatively speaking, more noticeable. (Although; an actual direct notification service would be even better)

Part of the problem here is getting developer time onto fixing up such an issue. a) I don't think the Foundation employs a UI expert and b) the community actually requesting serious feature enhancements has a history of taking. absolutely.

I think where the ad "crosses the line" here is the faux star rating; the other (unpaid) listings have been user rated/ranked and Patrick's ad is misusing the trust that users of the site potentially put into the ratings. I think that if th
