Our code reviews are far more "is this the right way to solve the problem?" than "hey, you never use that variable you declared." The latter would be picked up by our linter; I'm having a hard time seeing the value

Incredibly insightful, thank you. We all know how hard it is to find a programming gig these days. I'm not convinced you have any knowledge of how things actually work in Google, but my point is that you can give me a ring if something

Oh, look; a brand spanking new HN account backing China on this one! Yes, why would it be bad news for an authoritarian government to strengthen its hold on its people. Those spam calls are so annoying! BTW, those spammers aren't sitti

I hope HN never lightens up. It does seem harsh at times, but when you start letting short/irreverent/low value content through and you end up with reddit.

You forgot that stadia also lacks nearly all of the nice-to-gave features already provided on consoles. You don't even get a notification when you unlock a trophy.

They don't have the game dev experience or the library. Seems obvious. They can stream the games for the same reason Netflix can't buy a single DVD and stream that movie to everyone on the planet.
