No car in existence can make use of them yet. It's a bit like networks bragging that they have 5G base stations before any 5G phones were created.

Not sure what you mean. The current European superchargers use a Type 2 Mennekes adapter, but the protocol is proprietary. I gather that European Model 3s will have CCS sockets (a superset of pins of Type 2 Mennekes) so they will be able to

Other bathrooms are available. Your Tesla should be able to stop at those; it doesn't only stop at superchargers. One-mile-per-minute definitely sounds like something was wrong. Did you try other charging stations? How full was your ba

Folks are speculating that a Model S/X refresh will be announced at the end of the Model Y unveiling next week. It'd make sense, as both have had massive price drops recently, and haven't had a battery upgrade in two years.

Thanks for the critique of Facebook as a technical implementation. I was curious as to what societal good the company and its products have done. It sounds like "saved people a bit of time by doing all the things separate services used

As a person who has never had a Facebook account, can someone explain what societal good they've done? I see none. I see espionage on a massive scale. I see democracies weakened for profit. I see self-obsessed shallow folks constantly

Likewise, very happy to still be using my 2015 MBP. I don't feel any envy for users of the newer models.

I have exclusively been driving EVs since 2013 (Renault Zoe and a Tesla Model X), and also use a Brompton folding bicycle on my commute to work (total 6 miles cycling). I've never understood the appeal of electric bikes. It just seems

It appears that in China, the state tracks your every move, whereas in the West private enterprise tracks your every move (Google, Facebook, et al).

Anecdata point: I managed to make a commercial 2D platform game with GIMP. It's pretty powerful, even if the usability is not as good.

I get the feeling the author found out what "a priori" means recently and is trying to find excuses to use the term.

And this is why we hire for empathy, and pair-program instead of doing code reviews. Code reviews and features branches don't cause this type of behaviour, but they are a fertile field for this to flourish. I'd rather have ten med

Eating "right-handed" has always seemed irrational to me. It dates back to medeival eating traditions when folks only had a knife - therefore, it was held in the right hand as it was the primary and only implement. Fast forward to

Does it matter for the people that die in the meantime because someone didn't read the instructions, the product description, or the in-car warnings? When you select full self-driving capability in the Tesla configurator, it states exp

Consensus could be a synonym here for 'current trends'. I see no advantage of returning error types over checked exceptions. I'm happy to be informed, though.

Cripes. The "pedo guy" thing made me cringe and reaffirmed that Elon is a fallible human, but this is the first time as a Tesla owner I'm worried about the leadership of the company.
