In terms of desktop development, it's important to keep in mind that Windows is still what's running on ~90% of desktops and laptops outside a few bubbles. I doubt your average desktop .NET developer has spent much time thinking a

> How about 60# full gut vs 50# hybrid (gut in the crosses)? Would the former still be a lot more powerful than the latter? The hybrid setups I tested were usually in the ballpark of 46-48# poly mains with 50-52# gut crosses. My experien

The advantage of poly isn't that it grips, but that it's elastic enough to deform and snap back quickly. The old idea of string having 'bite' has been mostly disproven with the advent of high speed video to show what

Poly definitely changed the game in many ways, but not as much when it comes to fast serves. Even strung in the 40lb range, poly strings generate much less power than gut. You'll find that most of the big servers still use gut in the

From McEnroe's era to now, the biggest difference is the materials used to make the racquets, which allows them to be stiffer, lighter, and have a larger head all at the same time. All three of those things contribute to how much power

A little anti-trust action against you by the government will do that. Though it may not have been solely consumer friendly in the past, strongarming OEMs to avoid these kinds of messes was one of the things that got them in trouble 15 year

The Outlook mail app on iOS is much better than the default iPhone mail app. I know quite a few folks who are non-MS in every other way, but use Outlook on their iPhones.

That is definitely interesting. I wonder if it's because they're more likely to be contextually interested in ads on a site that they would go to the effort of whitelisting, but that wouldn't actually be the case overall if t

I get the impression that today's CTR-driven advertisers would prefer not to show ads to folks who are actively trying to block them, because they would almost never have generated useful clicks anyway. Kind of like how online scamme

FWIW, the upgrade process works very well. If your current setup doesn't have any issues, I wouldn't bother with a full repave. I've upgraded a half dozen machines from 8.x to 10 throughout the past several months and all of

Yes, and that font looks much better. I've used Lato on projects in the past and it was legible, but you have to stick to 400 weight and above (IIRC, that template you used was only loading 300 and 700).
