This could be really useful. My university campus for example, is shown in much greater detail on OSM.

There is a distinct difference between making something illegal and making writing about something illegal. There are all sorts of films and books that show crime being committed, sometimes even with the criminals being the good guys. The

ASE( http://google-opensource.blogspot.com/2009/06/introducing-an... ) Lets Ruby and Python run among others. It may not be ideal for distribution to end-users yet, but it seems pretty good.

Typically the internet has been referred to as 'routing around' things like sites being taken down or things like the AACS encryption key being banned. I don't see it as too far a leap to say its an 'immune response'. But I think perhaps it

A link to the original discussion thread and/or an explanation of what this is actually for would be great! (The about page is no help).

Well the ads are there to support the unlimited free music they're giving you, so you can't complain too much. On the adware front - the app doesn't auto-run, doesn't self install, is easy to uninstall and doesn't show ads when it isn't run

I'm also reading Gödel, Escher, Bach The first few chapters were invaluable to me with discrete maths - it was far easier to think inside a fixed formal system when I had experienced it within the book first. The remaining chapters are all

Surely if its in common use and is well known, then there's plenty of evidence of prior work? That would make it unenforceable surely? In which case Colgate have just spent a smallish chunk of money on publishing how to make a powder that m

I'm dissapointed its been increased. I try and only speak when I have something especially interesting to say. But I regularly vote and in my opinion, vote sensibly. Its a shame to be penalised for quietness.

One thing I personally like about HN is that, in general, I can read the comment and form an opinion about it before I read who posted it. If the username was 'in your face' it would be harder to not let that colour your reading. For exampl

I couldn't agree more with the middle paragraph. But 'no classes' and 'no functions'? class NewClass: def NewFunction(arg0, arg1): print("Hello, World") Python has both. Pointers wise, I think you can learn them fair

Here in the UK it is incredibly common, especially with cases like injury at work. Known as 'No-Win No-Fee' in adverts.

Surely some level of self-censorship is desirable. If you disagree with something and doing it politely you generally won't get hit too hard from what I've seen (though I appreciate my account is fairly new). Saying things like 'groupthink'

Exactly how I learned mine. My times tables were abysmal until I did A level maths, there's only so many times you can use your calculator for 6x7 before you just remember it as 42.

Except DDG has features other than a good privacy policy, so he's not just marketing to what you suppose to be a niche market - he's just adding them to his target market.

The argument about keeping an email around is a bit silly. Most large file attachments the theoretical affected users are going to send are going to be some kind of document. You can just resave those. Besides I've yet to find an email clie
