If you look into the court docs, Epic says Apple revoking access to their dev tools negatively affects Epic's ability to support Unreal Engine, which negatively affects many apps. Not that apps using Unreal will get kicked off App Stor

I agree. I remember there was a bit of criticism in the iOS twitter community about iOS development influencers giving bad advice, because they haven't worked on meatier projects. Can't find much anymore but here's one exampl

If I'm going to allow my account to be recovered via SIM, why not just use "poor man's MFA" by just authing via SIM? Security is as weak as its weakest link. I looked at GitLab's recovery options, and you have the o

Yes. My apartment building in SF was part of a landmark legal case because many units stay over 80 degrees for large portions of the year due to poor consideration of solar factors. Usually only builders are sued for defective construction,

Wouldn't the B variant show higher session count? If your A/B testing tool doesn't detect imbalances in cohort size I would imagine you have a bigger problem, since it's easy to accidentally measure the A and B groups di

Yes, but if a site constantly needs a dev to be oncall, I can see why you'd shut it down. Even with zero hosting costs, that's still a lot of work!

Even if hosting costs weren’t a problem, doesn’t the complexity of maintaining Soup sound like a bigger one? > This is also the reason why we dropped the idea of open-sourcing soup. It's too complex to maintain and to hand-over.

You can get an 8TB HDD for $150 right now. That's 6250 drives. That's about $1MM in drives, which doesn't sound that cost-prohibitive. Obviously that's not the whole cost since you need to pay for bandwidth, replication

This threat vector is interesting, but is it really a huge deal? I don’t think many company devices restrict the networks you can connect to (certainly not ones you bring on Caltrain) so why even target a corporate pre-shared-key network an
