I'm not sure what performance improvements you're expecting with cell phone generations but most of it's pretty incremental. I don't think 7G is going to be even twice as fast as 5G on the same frequencies. It should b

I said that in my first comment. You do a google search. The extension resolves every link on the page immediately via the goto urls. This doesn't leak any information to google because they obviously know which links they sent you

In both situations the lawnmower scoots up and takes fuel without paying, so it's meeting the basic requirements for theft. But the question was whether the lawnmower was trying to commit theft, as much as a computer can try to do th

Wow that's a terrible paraphrase! I asked about algorithms where recent/ongoing improvements were important and they already replied with a list. If you tell someone they can't use a matrix multiplication with better asymp

Larger than what? That only goes so far. And tons of whitespace doesn't make the tap targets bigger. It exacerbates the problem of bigger targets causing less to fit on the screen.

That's a weird statement. Do you think knowing the most about something inevitably leads you to a specific decision? It doesn't. And this isn't something that would affect their revenue particularly much. So while it'

But the extension doesn't need to use that exact mechanism, and the person that linked it didn't mention specific mechanisms. The purpose of the extension is putting the real URLs back, and it can still do that. And it can stil

We don't know how good models will get, but the pattern of open weight models keeping up on a relatively short delay has been holding pretty well. And even among the proprietary models there's healthy competition. The concentrat

We're way into diminishing returns in matrix multiplication, and being clever about ALUs and cache layout is likely to dwarf any asymptotic improvements you're going to find. Any better examples of improvements in the last decade

In many environments it ends up acting like a generic "don't build things" mandate. Such a mandate's wins are by accident more often than by target, and it does more harm than good.
