I have personally nullified one of those, namely the Copilot Key. It took a low level keyboard hook, and blocking a specific sequence of keys, then injecting the right ctrl key back.

Forcing people to keep up with SDK updates is a bad thing in itself. Let people target the earliest possible feature set and make the app run on as many phones as possible rather than showing scary messages to people due to targeting an ol

WASM + Zig (even compiling C code) will make some really tiny WASM files with no dependencies. The problem is that you don't have a standard library, then your code gets really big as you add more of that in there.

In 32-bit windows, you used to be able to see if a pointer was valid or not by seeing if it pointed to the last 2GB of address space. If it did, it was pointing to Kernel memory that was not valid for user mode code. But then Large Address

JS and WASM share the main arraybuffer. It's just very not-javascript-like to try to use an arraybuffer heap, because then you don't have strings or objects, just index, size pairs into that arraybuffer. Anyway, Javascript is no s

Blocking applications from interacting with each other when it already has full access to the other process's memory via /proc/<pid>/mem is just silly. Save the blocking for when it doesn't already have that

The word YouTube really depends a lot on good kerning. The "YouTube Display" font has much better kerning around the uppercase T than the other three fonts that mention YouTube.

Audio delay for most Bluetooth headphones is downright atrocious. Yes, there are some out there which support low delay modes (under 40ms), but the vast majority of them do not.

Log Base 2 of 3 = ~1.5849625, so that's the limit to how well you can pack three-state values into bits of data. For something more practical, you can pack five three-state values within a byte because 3^5 = 243, which is smaller than

There's the ARM video from LowSpecGamer, where they talk about how they forgot to connect power to the chip, and it was still executing code anyway. According to Steve Furber, the chip was accidentally being powered from the protectio

It gets worse for UTF-16, Windows will let you name files using unpaired surrogates, now you have a filename that exists on your disk that cannot be represented in UTF-8 (nor compliant UTF-16 for that matter). Because of that, there's

The one place UTF-16 massively wins is text that would be two bytes as UTF-16, but three bytes as UTF-8. That's mainly Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc...

One example that really sticks in my mind was "Libreboot". Yes, it's supposed to represent a free BIOS/booting system. But it also sounds like the name of a library dedicated to rebooting your computer.

I personally had big problems doing an OTA update within LineageOS that required a factory reset afterwards. So yeah, don't do the OTA updates. Do full backups and full manual updates instead.
