Yeaaaah... not a Chrome-phone-home fan, so I'll make do with what FF has to offer. But thanks for the suggestion, hope it helps someone else. :)

I am more at home in FF so this might not be true for Chrome... Just look at the simplicity and elegance of Firebug net panel ( https://2r4s9p1yi1fa2jd7j43zph8r-wpengine.netdna-ssl.com/fil... ). I love Mozilla and respect the

That in itself doesn't mean much. At the time it was said that Web 2.0 is like teenage sex: everyone is talking about it, almost noone is doing it and those few that are doing it are doing it all wrong. :) I do agree that Firebug (as m

Thanks for mentioning it! I still miss the Firebug, it just made more sense to me. For anyone searching for info how to enable the theme: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Tools/Settings

Xfce unfortunately not. I have 4k laptop set at 1280p because it is impossible to set everything so that it doesn't look ridiculously small. Still, I prefer low res to KDE/Unity/Gnome.

Are they any quieter than Cherry brown? I bought a Das keyboard and it is driving me nuts. I appreciate the tactile feel, but noise not so much.

This is not cynical, it's realistic. After all, tracking users is closely tied to their main source of income. It is not a coincidence that most pages use Google Analytics.

My experience too, 6 years. Never been a fanboy, but don't understand the hate either. MongoDB never surprised me, the tradeoffs were known in advance (at least the ones that mattered to me).

Ah yes. With Jenkins anything can be customized and made better, you just need this plugin... To be fair, it was very stable, though UI was awful. Nowadays we use GitLab (selfhosted) and love it.

Multiple years, here's why: you need to decide what will work and what will not, as you don't have time to go the wrong route. And that takes experience which it would be difficult to gain in 6 months.

I think opening links this way would defeat the purpose of containers (with respect to privacy) because that would allow Google to link containers (most sites contain some JS from G). If this is not what concerns you then I guess some exten

I heard once that it is easier to filter out (of the photos) light that comes from LED, but I can't find a good resource on it. Anyone know if this is true?

True. But in some ways current situation with Safari is worse. With IE you could at least say "download a proper browser if you want proper experience" (if you had the luxury of not being in servitude to your visitors). With Safar

This is because credit score is a measure of two things. The first one is obvious - that you are capable of paying your debt if you find yourself in it. The second one however is how valuable you are to the banks. What good are you to them

Sorry, I have to disagree. Performing regular pen testing is costly, so skiping it is a tradeoff. Employing a team of security engineers is also costly and there aren't enough of them to make that viable for all companies. Tradeoff. Bu

Afaik in GitLab Wiki you can mention issues to link to them (same as in merge requests and elsewhere). Is that what you had in mind or is the integration in Confluence deeper?

I've been using Gimp for ages (15 to 20 years) and it was always solid for me. Maybe I was just using the more stable features? But I've mostly used it on Linux. My major gripe was the Save / Export fiasco [0] but even that i

I think the whole point is elsewhere - get the UI/UX right. People forgive many things, but bad UX is not among them. That said, I am excited about this - I love idea about pure OSS phone with hardware kill switches for mic and camera!
