Given the lack of developers in general I can't imagine this being an issue. Besides, most of the work at "blockchain companies" is just your old boring engineering.

Maybe, but those 12% (didn't check the numbers, I take your word for it) are much more sensitive about such discrimination. That's IE all over again...

This! Large refactoring can and should be done, but reviewer should be warned in advance and goals of such rewrite should be very clear. And after the rewrite, code should be treated as alpha and properly tested. And rewrites should be rare

If I disregard "/s", I actually agree - with caveat that large refactoring is still ok if you treat the refactored code as a totally new project - not battle tested that is. So you absolutely can do large refactorings, but

It would be interesting if HN detected such behaviour... Then it could ignore some downvotes. I know it doesn't sound like much, but undeserved downvotes hurt...

Yes. Or simply profiling the app and optimizing sore spots would have helped too. It seems to me there was no real reason to move from Python to Go, apart from preference.

Thank you for an in-depth explanation! I guess I use browser quite differently (qnd on simpler pages) so I never noticed any of these things.

There's a world of difference. For Mozilla to sell out on user's privacy it would mean game over. They simply can't afford to do so, even if they wanted to (which I believe they don't). Google on the other hand? That

I find it better to run stable/testing and install Firefox separately. It works great.

Well, I myself actually usually prefer text to video, so I just search for tutorials and read the ones that I feel I understand... So I can't really recommend any classes (but if you see Karpathy listed as author then it's probabl

To me this level of detail is perfect - but I do have some prior knowledge on the subject. I think it is difficult to put such a project in writing in more detail because many choices (framework, NN architecture, data cleanup procedures...)

Not in terms of gas, because one can test on a separate blockchain. But it takes a lot of expertize and time, which means money - and it appears that for all the money that was saved in their wallets they received very little (if any) funds

Yeah, I guess we all learned to write-protect the floppies the hard way... When you lose data you become a bit more paranoid about making mistakes. Fortunatelly floppies could be protected with a bit of tape.

This. It reminds me of PHP in many aspects - Solidity is just awful. Like the way the multi-dim arrays' sizes are written in opposite order to the one used when accessing values? Pure genius. </s>

True, if you are talking about general population. But among those who can code in my experience the biggest obstacle at work is being able to communicate and collaborate efficiently.

I would like to know the same, but I do have a theory. What will they do? If they start making invalid decisions, the rest of the network will fork. It won't be pretty, but btc will survive... Or is there a better explanation of risks

I am guessing you are not on Linux? Your priorities would be different then. For instance "similar in functionalities like on other OSs" is pretty high on my list.

I just don't trust the devs behind Chromium (who are mostly employed by Google) to care about their users' privacy. Using FF is my way of voting against that.
