Or you can find and replace CA file/string with your own and then do mitm. There is virtually no way app developers can defend against such hacks on any platform owned by user (so, everywhere except on Apple devices).

Most job seekers are unfortunately not in a position to be picky about the job offerings. I agree it is a blatant violation of privacy though.

Sure, but do you use something else? It's simply incredible how low-quality most "card apps" are (Jira leading the pack with awful UX/UI).

Also, while I still oppose systemd (because it's a monolith, because it reinvents logging and because... it comes from the people behind DBus :) I must admit that lately I prefer writing systemd units to making nohup workarounds. I nev

Depends on width of the monitor, of course, but one reason would that it is easier for reader to follow lines if they are not too wide. The same reason is behind multicolumn layout in newspapers.

Also, I recently gave in and ditched jQuery for React, and must say it's not that bad... It's quite a joy to use actually once you learn the concepts. One needs to look up all new JS "improvements" though to use it. Espe

Does anyone here know how fqr along this effort is? Is it usable today (in the sense that one could develop TF backend which uses ROCm)?

Agreed. But on the other hand, with web a browser can select which features it allows and which ones it ignores. With flash there was no such option. I am really hoping Mozilla gets their act together and protects us users here.

This. Java applets were first, but the plugin was horrible (slow) and tooling was aimed at programmers, not designers. I hated flash btw (designers were really creative with it), but in the end it pushed JS and DOM forward, so I guess I s

Err... No. The first time around (Pocket), yes. The second time (changing my explicitly set default search engine) - maybe. But this? Bundling ads with my browser? Not acknowledging it is a problem? No.

It is not overblown. Many of us powerusers / influencers stood by Firefox because of privacy. Latest failures have damaged my trust considerably. To add insult to injury I don't see an apology or anything similar from Mozilla (o

I recently used Python for a project and was again reminded why PHP is still the king of smallish web sites. With PHP I could rent a cheap service to host a few sites, no problem, take FTP and just upload scripts. That was possible 15+ year

I don't think so - that wouldn't make sense. Any cryptocurrency's survival depends on early adopters, so it makes sense to award them. Note that their risk is higher too. Don't believe that? Join them. :)

True. Also, there is a fourth variable where you can cut corners (even if it's almost never a good idea): quality. Great teams can produce much more than mediocre ones, but they too have a limit. When deadline is set too close, one of

That's a bit harsh... There are always some advances in technology that society needs to adapt to. This is inevitable - and no amount of regulation will help it. It is also not something bad, that's just the way it is and always w
