2 years is pushing it. People should not get new devices every second year to have a good experience. We should certainly not limit ourselves for the sake of the past, but it should be possible to build technology that doesn't officially "e

Well, unless you sync it and lose all the apps because their newest versions don't support the old iOS anymore and there is no way to "downgrade". I agree with you that things don't need to be constantly updated and upgraded to be awesome,

Obviously for Microsoft including a $400 copy of their own software doesn't actually cost $400, unless one hundred percent of the people who get the surface would buy Office 2010 if it wasn't included.

After it killed it's rival, development practically stopped for several years, and the progress of the web stopped with it. You know how everybody hates AT&T and Verizon for not bothering to make a better service because they essentiall

Indeed. One really has to question how this sort of thinking affects humanity in the long term. Modern business has become too meta to the point where it hurts the actual product and market.

The US has a very sue-happy culture though, things might not escalate that quickly in other parts of the world, thus not requiring so much control of the social side of a workplace.

Doesn't their phone say "SAMSUNG" on the top of the frontside? Surely Samsung wanted to mimic that sleek smartphone feeling that was all the rage, but try to confuse customers with a clone? They would be doing a terrible job.

As the other shave pointed out, it's just the Google Chrome UI wrapped around the iOS browser. I would hardy call that "the only real compelling reason to buy the Google tablet".

This is most likely true for Chrome yes, but it's almost definitely true for IE. I feel confident claiming that at the very least half of the IE users use it because they don't have a choice or because they got it as default on Windows.

What you are asking is akin to asking what English is lacking to become a poem. HaXe is a language, not an engine.

Not entirely true, it depends on the platform. While compiling to JavaScript obviously results in JavaScript code (which is what the browser can understand), but compiling to Flash does not compile to ActionScript 3 and then the flash assem

Sorry but terrible idea. Not even 1% of facebook users would stick around. And before you argue that 1% of the current user base would be great, the usefulness of a social network is greatly diminished if your friends aren't there, making e

What matters more is the fact that if a family member of mine wants me to make a personalized app for their iPhone, it's not doable unless the great big Apple approves of the app. (or we jailbreak). That's just ridiculous in so many ways. E

I'm sure we could have some sort of JSVM, we could even have some sort of bytecode for the HTML, but it would destroy part of what makes the web so great: it's openness. The ability to view the source of any webpage, and even make chances a
