Plenty of excellent Discord communities out there. Which kind of sucks, because none of it is indexed or searchable and who has the have time to be an active member on more than a few of those? Lots of useful knowledge hidden behind walled

There's a couple of 95% functional apps lying around here, that work fine but the UX is a total mess. The active target audience (me) is fine with it. Other potentially interested parties don't know that they exist anyway. Next!

Or do you want to be building the thing. Hobby projects that take forever are usually fun to work on. They would not be hobby projects if they weren't.

The current generation of language models is only rewarded for how well it can mimic human communication. There is no incentive for innovation. Give it a few generations and we'll add that. A current model could already run a chain of

Is there a reason all these language models rarely have any indication of the amount of GPU ram required to run them?

So far the only new thing I'm seeing is the ability to handle text. Didn't Nvidia announce a model that could do that months ago?

In SD you can add words like twins, brothers, clones, repetition and copy to your negative prompt. It won't fix the problem, but it will help. Would be a lot easier if AfterDetailer could handle dynamic prompts.

Until I see an actual hands on from an outside source I am not buying it. It is not clear at all how cherrypicked / conveniently edited these examples are.

lower end GPUs like T4 Alright, nothing to see here. I could really use some kind of filter for stuff that does work with a beefy consumer GPU and stuff that does not.

Most children can hear very high frequencies and it usually causes them discomfort. For a while it was actually used as a deterrent for loitering youth in the Netherlands (the "mosquito device"), which was terrible for me: as an a

Because LLMs just mimic human communication based on massive amounts of human generated data and have 0 actual intelligence at all. It could be a first step, sure, but we need many many more breakthroughs to actually get to AGI.

The requirement to either pay a lot for or learn how to do mastering always seemed unnecessary to me. Stuff like mixing, equalizing, sidechaining and eternal sample hunts all take a lot of time as well... It's why making music is one o

Everything must always evolve, I suppose? I do wonder what will become of music when the Great Blender is done remixing everything. Hard to predict, but I'm sure we'll get something new out of it. Imagine a talented singer just fr

GPT4's "knowledge" is broad, but not deep. The current generation of LLM's have no clue when it comes to things like intent or actual emotion. They will always pick the most obvious (and boring) choice. There is a big ga

The way an LLM can teach and explain is so much better than having to chase down information manually. This is an amazing time to learn how to code. An LLM can actually spot and fix mediocrity just fine. All you have to do is ask. Drop in s

So you expect AI will just create all potential interesting side projects by itself when it gets better, no outside intervention required? I have high hopes, but let's be realistic here. I'm not saying you won't have to work.

Like I posted above: for me programming is a means to an end. I have a fridge full of plans, that will last me for at least a decade, even if AI would write most of the code for me. My mistake to assume most skilled programmers are in a sim

The jobs and careers are not going anywhere unless you are doing very low level coding. There will be more opportunities, not less.

Good riddance. I can finally get started on the massive stockpile of potential projects that I never had time for until now. It's a good time to be in the section of programmers that see writing code as a means to an end and not as the

Work on your prompts. Break down the problem into pseudocode steps, the way you might write down comments for yourself on how to do something. Provide examples of similar working code if you can. Don't ask it to do everything at the sa
